ACA NeoGeo Classic Library introduces a revamped version of the classic futuristic baseball game 2020 Super Baseball

In the latest entry into the ACA NeoGeo Collection, SNK is offering up their classic baseball simulator 2020 Super Baseball. This futuristic-themed baseball game sees you take control of a robotic and cyborg-ish baseball team facing off against a variety of other robot and cyborg-ish baseball teams as you compete to win the championship.

The theming of 2020 Super Baseball is rather funny, especially given the name of the game. 2020, as we all know, was anything but full of robotic sports and neon-soaked futuristic cities. Add that on top of the general theme of tech-adorned humans and advanced AI playing America’s favourite pastime, and it comes to be a pretty funny game, intentionally or not.

You’ll step up to the plate as the captain of one of twelve teams total, with two leagues of six teams each, and you’ll just play some good old-fashioned baseball. If you need a gameplay parallel, think the MLB series or really any other baseball video game, and you’re not too far off.

Granted, this is an older game, so don’t expect all those fancy single-player story modes or career mode or any stat management, no - this is as old-fashioned as it gets. It’s just you, your team, and the opposition's robotic forces. No tricks or wild stuff here, just the good old-fashioned sport in its rawest form.

Still, given this is an ACA NeoGeo library release, there are some modern-day features baked in such as the ability to create save stats, gamepad support, and even online multiplayer too! This is one of the smaller releases into the library, but it’s still one worth your time.

If you’d like to give it a go and find out for yourself, you can purchase 2020 Super Baseball at either of the links below for only $3.99!
